Accelerate your entry into the health and fitness industry 

This course provides you with an accelerated option to become qualified to work as a personal trainer in the fitness industry. Students will undertake the pre-requisite units required for entry into the Certificate IV in Fitness SIS40215, prior to completing the qualification. It provides you with the skills and knowledge to be competent in a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry including leading and communicating with groups, consulting with clients on nutrition, exercise and lifestyle choices and designing exercise or activity programs for a range of clients (adolescents to older adults).

You will be trained in the latest training software, Visual Coaching Pro, and be able to plan, conduct and evaluate training programs in a gym or outdoor environment. A specialisation within this course is the delivery of key knowledge and skills in the area of strength and conditioning training to enable you to develop periodised training plans for your clients to achieve their goals.

Successful completion of this course will allow you to work independently as a personal trainer and/or manage a gym or training facility.

Prior to enrolment all students* must demonstrate they meet the minimum entrance requirements identified for successful course completion. Student suitability is assessed in the following areas to ensure students are able to fulfill the course training and assessment requirements.

Students seeking a subsidised training place must meet the Skills First eligibility requirements as set by the Victorian Department of Education and Training at the time of enrolment and prior to course commencement to receive a subsidy towards their training tuition fee from the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments.
